Today we worked with props! The pieces looked so much better with the addition of sticks, bottles, mops, brooms, chips packets and bags. But once practice ended these objects were flung around the room; so I need to find a way to explain to them that the props are not for play, but to be “used” in our plays.
I noticed how a few had started slacking in their movements and expressions, perhaps because they were getting bored of rehearsing the same thing over and over again. So I had to keep reminding them to add more energy to their actions and more emotions to their faces.
Unfortunately we could not practice on the main stage today but we will most probably rehearse on it tomorrow.
Since tomorrow is the last class before our final performance next week I want to get them some sweets to celebrate with them a little bit! Stay posted for tomorrow to see if they like the surprise.
